Take the canal road from Mae Jo to Huai Kaew

We live 35 km north of Chiang Mai. The university town of Mae Jo is a half way point along Road #1001.

When you leave Mae Jo University going north on Road #1001 there is a beautiful parallel route along a canal on your right that is great for cycles. 500 meters past the University border there is a U turn lane where you can make a Uey  and go back about one kilometer to jog over to the Canal.

This next map goes all the way from the junction with the canal at Mae Jo to Anchaleephorn Garden. This map shows the Canal Road from near the Golf Course to The Garden.

In 15 km it will take you to the front gate of the Royal Chiang Mai Golf Club. From there go 4 km more, turn right and cross the canal on this bridge.

After crossing the bridge turn right and follow the main road as it loops and goes past a paper factory and comes to a public walled enclosure for cremations. Turn right after that. This road will now take you to our house on the left. It is the last house before you get to a Y intersection.
